TO OUR CUSTOMERS
It is well known to some sailors in Tokyo Bay,
but for others it’s so shocking just to see the picture!
Surprisingly, a military sea fort island built in the middle of Tokyo Bay over 120 years ago is still standing today! It is called No.2 Sea Fort (Daini Kaihou [die-knee-kaiho]) and is also known as “The Battleship Island of the East”.
The Sea Fort is one of many “Tokyo Bay Forts” that were created long ago.
to protect the capital city of Tokyo and the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) Yokosuka Base.
