Japanese cormorant is a bird that mainly eats fish and is 80 to 90 cm long and weighs 2 to 3 kg. The photo seems to be a young bird. It is said that Japanese cormorant is playing an active role in cormorant fishing in the river, not great cormorant.  Japanese cormorant is designated as an endangered species in Chiba prefecture and a semi-endangered species in Kanagawa prefecture.
